MY PLANET
COME ON SOUTH AFRICANS – GO GREEN !!
Every September South Africans across the country celebrate Heritage Day (24 September) - a commemorative day on which we are encouraged to celebrate our cultural heritage as well as the diversity of our beliefs and traditions. However, what we often neglect to celebrate is our country's diverse natural heritage.
Let's remember the green heritage of this beautiful country and support the organisations that work to protect it. MyPlanet , a fundraising initiative launched in 2007 as part of the MySchool fundraising programme, aims to help South Africans make a meaningful contribution to protecting our green heritage.
As a MyPlanet cardholder you help to raise valuable funds for organisations that focus on the improvement and protection of the environment as well as those focused on animal welfare, such as the WWF, SPCA, SANCOBB, Animal Mass Sterilisation Project, the Endangered Wildlife Fund and the National Horse Trust. Every time you swipe your card at participating partners such as Woolworths, Toys R Us, Reggies, Club Travel, kalahari.net, Engen QuickShops, Waltons or Jack's Paint & Hardware; up to 5 percent of your purchase is donated by the store - on your behalf - to the MyPlanet beneficiary of your choice.
If you're an existing MySchool cardholder and want to change your beneficiary contributions to a MyPlanet or MyVillage organisation, you need not apply for a new card. For more information on how you can activate additional MySchool, MyPlanet or MyVillage beneficiaries on your existing MySchool card or apply for a MyPlanet card, please email cs@myschool.co.za , log onto www.myvillagemyplanet.co.za or call 0860 10 04 45.
